COSMIC DISCOURSE
Compiled by Daniel Maluka and Sheldon M. Cooper COSMIC DISCOURSE (PAGE 002) is a compact audio documentary—an archival collection of poetry that explores a galaxy of collective imagination and shared knowledge within Toronto’s writing community.
Featuring recordings from twelve different poets; each mode of expression showcased here reflects a deep, personal connection to the written word. These recordings invite the listener into each poet’s universe, forming a constellation of perspectives that serve not only as a resource for academics and educators but, more importantly, as a reminder of what makes each voice so unique.
About the maker: Daniel Maluka is a self-taught Toronto-based visual artist and writer. His work takes an Afrocentric approach while incorporating surrealist elements. In using his interest in the subconscious, Daniel brings what lurks in the deep recesses of the mind into the forefront of his work.
Sheldon M. Cooper (he/him) is an experimental artist of Caribbean descent based in Toronto (Tkaronto). His work explores imperfection, introspective material and interpersonal relationships. Through archival and cultural documentation, Sheldon blends a variety of mediums within a semi-surrealist framework, irreverently challenging forms of communication, language and process.
