House Of The Dreamer

Regular price $6.00

House of the Dreamer is inspired by my work on the ever-changing meaning of home. After the dramatic renovation of my childhood home here in Toronto, living in a house that my family shares with our friends and moving to Montreal for school, defining home has become more complicated. I was lucky enough to be introduced to a piece of text in school called The Poetics of Space by the 20th century French philosopher Gaston Bachelard. At this time in my life, it is most impactful. He Describes a home in connection with daydreaming and that it is the place where the daydreamer is protected. This has expanded how I think about home and its connection with dreams and (semi)imagined realities.
