Queer Dance Culture started as an honours project while I was finishing the teacher training program at Canada's National Ballet school, and it quickly turned into a passion project I wanted to share more widely—so I made it into a print zine. It blends interviews, writing, and design to explore ballet through a queer lens. I created it not just for the dance world, but also for the wider queer community—to show that ballet can be inclusive, expressive, and for all of us.

About the maker: Nicole is a queer ballet artist, teacher, and magazine maker based in Toronto. After two decades of dancing, she’s into queering ballet spaces and blending movement with visual art. Her zine, Queer Dance Culture, brings together performance, design, and community—always with a focus on visibility, transformation, and creative storytelling.
