For the Love of Print
There are lots of reasons why we’re focused on printed magazines and newspapers, but the biggest is that we love them. As creatives with decades of experience working in Canadian media, we know how to tell stories in many (many!) formats, but when it comes to meaningfully documenting the people, places and moments that shape our world today, our favourite is definitely through a magazine, newspaper or book. Print cuts through the noise of an increasingly digital world, offers a uniquely tactile experience and acts as both media and memento.
And it’s not just us. Research shows print has become a premium product, especially for younger readers, who are looking for offline experiences that signal their values and aesthetics. Audiences overwhelmingly perceive print as a more luxurious reading experience than digital, not to mention one that’s more inspiring and trustworthy. (Readers are not only more likely to make purchases based on what they read in magazines, they’re also more likely to remember the ads they see in print compared to those on websites or social media.) But most importantly, this still feels like the most special way to tell a story.
If you agree, read on for how we can work together.
If you’re looking for insight and advice on an existing publication or project, let’s talk. We can offer feedback on a proposal or plan, offer input alongside your team, help you troubleshoot editorial, photographic and design challenges, and/or brainstorm new approaches or avenues. Time commitment: anywhere from an hour to an afternoon.
Need more support? We also offer more hands-on consulting services for brands, individuals and organizations. Whether you are looking to execute a publishing project, campaign or something else entirely, we can act as creative, photo and/or editorial directors to help you execute your vision. With this option, we can assist in conceptualizing a publishing project from scratch or support you through redesigning or repositioning an existing project. Think, identifying the goals and roadmap for your project, determining a visual language, finessing voice and tone and connecting you with distribution, media and public relations networks.
We also make print publications, and can do that for you! With this option, we will handle end-to-end production of your project. This means determining format and multiplatform editorial strategies, building out design templates, commissioning words, photos and illustrations, handling the hands-on production of the publication, liaising with print partners and/or overseeing distribution, as well as producing narrative video, marketing assets and more. With this option, you’ll be able to access our collective storytelling skills, hands-on attention for your project and our extensive network of editors, writers, photographers, illustrators, artists and designers.
