Regional Archive Artist in Residence Program

Tara Newell is a British multidisciplinary photographer and artist based in Toronto. Her art practice explores the concept of wordplay and ‘double meaning’, using familiar objects and scenes to evoke deeper interpretations. Through her work, she invites the audience to engage with words and language from a different perspective, encouraging the viewer to interpret hidden layers of meaning within the pieces.

Tara Newell's work is being shown as part of the Regional Archive Artist in Residence program. The show will be mounted in-store until May 16, 2026. The Artist in Residence program extends the art from the printed page to the liminal space of the shop, creating new opportunities to feature artists working in print and on paper.
