Founded by feted film company Somesuch as a space for gripping and inventive storytelling – Somesuch Stories champions unique voices while examining contemporary experiences of culture, nature, sex and society.

Themed TENSION – Issue 8 simmers with sex, suspense, danger, fantasy and transgression.

Through 19 contributions by an electrifying contingent of writers and artists, this edition explores how tensions trigger emotions and compel actions as they drive humans towards unknowable outcomes – including the tragic, comic and horrific; the ominous and the explosive.

With cover art by Laura McCluskey – Somesuch Stories 8 features further photographic series and artworks by: Caleb Femi, Elsa Rouy, Birk Thomassen, Roxy Rezvany, Nanténé Traoré, Elio Mercer, and Thuy Vy. 

And fiction and poetry contributed by: Rita Bullwinkel, Eloghosa Osunde, Andrew Boryga, Priya Guns, Toby Lloyd, Monica Brashears, Ella Plevin, Dior J Stephens, Ana Cecilia Alvarez, Allegra Mullan, and Thea Sun.
