C Magazine, established in 1984, is a contemporary art and criticism periodical that functions as a forum for significant ideas in art and its contexts. Each issue explores a theme that is singularly engaged with emerging and prevailing perspectives.

In this issue: Tidal

as literal image and metaphor for ceaseless movement, this issue follows the inseparability of ocean and land and is inspired by Barbadian poet and scholar Kamau Brathwaite’s idea of tidalectics.  From Turtle Island to the Caribbean archipelago, Palestine, Central America, and Bidong Island in Malaysia, artists wade through interconnected and overlapping struggles across multiple shores, times, and material inheritances.
