Footnote #02
Footnote was conceived as a journal for artistic exchange with the aim of fostering new connections between disciplines and approaches. In each issue, writers, photographers and artists respond to a central text, forming an original, collective body of work.
In this issue:
For the central text of issue #02, Booker Prize winning poet and novelist Sir Ben Okri has written The Merchant of Colours, a fable exploring a world drained of its vibrancy and the wandering merchant who restores its hues. Responses in this issue consider perceptions, instincts, and activations around colour while taking the form of lyrical essays, darkroom experiments, impulsive painting, interviews, and a saturated visit to the zoo.
