Volume 7 is inspired by cultural theorists Sylvia Wynter and June Jordan in the search to expand the concept of “architecture” beyond its conventional meaning. Poetics of Architecture wrestles with the meaning of home and ancestral memory, studies living spiritual mementos and celebrates the attempted recreation of beloved spaces and the people who animate them. Design and diaspora are explored through aeroponics, textile and fibre works, visual art, the phenomenology and community intelligence of Black english, ceremony mapping, (decayed) archives, interviews, essays, poetry, and more.
