Posterzine #96
Posterzine is People of Print’s monthly publishing project, which aims to create affordable art for the masses. Each issue is made in collaboration with a different artist or designer to create a stunning hybrid piece: a mini-magazine which folds out into a gorgeous A1 format poster!
It is the only poster in the world that is registered with the British Library as a magazine. Posterzine is published by People of Print (In Perpetuum) in partnership with Pressision Printers & Finishers & G.F. Smith Papers.
In this issue: Gijs Van Den Berg
Dive into a chat with Gijs van den Berg, the creative director and partner at KesselsKramer, an independent advertising agency known for its radical, funny, and highly-memorable work. Based in Amsterdam, and now with offices in London and LA too, KesselsKramer is the brains behind the iconic ‘I AMsterdam’ campaign for the city. Another famous piece of work, which nicely reflects the agency’s brave, unconventional approach, is for the Hans Brinker Budget Hotel—aka ‘The Worst Hotel in the World’. But KesselsKramer doesn’t just make ads. The agency’s publishing arm produces books and magazines, which they say is to find “new ways of expressing creativity through printed matter.” We sat down with Gijs van den Berg to find out more about the agency’s unique approach. Learn about one of the most unconventional and creative independent advertising agencies in the world.
