Yarnz

Yarn /yan/ verb To talk; to speak; to say something. Yarnz is a literary and cultural magazine rooted in West African life, language, and imagination, platforming works from Africans at home and in diaspora. Each issue features a fresh and exciting curations of stories, essays, poems, art, and other linguistic explorations. 

In this issue:

The inaugural issue of Yarnz reflects the urgency and hunger of storytellers. Featuring a collection of fiction, non-fiction, poetry, and art full of refusal and discovery. Highlights include: the bronze makers in Côte d’Ivoire, eastern Nigeria's empty high rise mansions, the importance of ethnic names and why we must preserve them, tensions of class and gender in intimate relationships, and the nature of profit driven healthcare.
