Can I Go Play?

The goal of this zine is to bring awareness to the fact that as a society we don’y play enough, and this is primarily due to capitalism. I see playing as an act against capitalism because it takes time away from being ‘productive’ and working towards a goal. Playgrounds allow adults to embrace their inner child, shed inhibitions and just have fun! This zine delves into the history of the playground, how they have evolved over time, and who is interacting with these structures. My hope is that it encourages folks to consider adding play into their daily life, as well as pressuring governments to create playgrounds for all.

Combining her skills and interest in urban planning, she has researched, written and designed zines that explore a specific aspect of urban planning. She hopes more cities will invest in public transit infrastructure so she’ll never need to get a driver’s license.
