Magazine F #30, Water
Magazine F is a food documentary magazine co-created by B and Baemin, a Korean food delivery unicorn startup. Each issue introduces one ingredient that has had a significant impact on the table around the world, with particular focus on how everyday ingredients are produced, how they are used from region to region, what the economic impact is, and how chefs handle each ingredient. In short, F encompasses the past, the present, and the future of food culture.
This issue on water is a bit of a departure for Magazine F but represents the diversity in articles in both their weight and relation to the topic that one comes to expect from each issue. From the water cycle, to the history of bottled water, to interviewing collectors of strange and unusual bottled waters; this topic is truly more than meets the eye.
An interview with the leader of a company working to build solar desalination plants, a coffee company which emphasizes the influence of water quality on coffee extraction, and a section featuring histories of various ubiquitous bottled water companies are of special note. There is a city guide featuring Oslo and Helsinki, and a shopping guide for interesting waters from around the world.
