The Coronation of a Young Witch

The Coronation of a Young Witch is a collection of writing exploring how patriarchal systems vilify and label women who don’t conform as "witches." It makes use of a mix of medieval and urban format, which acts as a narrative journey and a manifesto for female autonomy. "The Witches in a Brawl," is a dramatic poem telling the betrayal and sentencing of a young and an elder woman, orchestrated by their own male relatives. While "The Coronation," is a theatrical piece with a chorus and a newly crowned Witch who proclaims a sovereign system of independence for her coven. In summary, the work gives a description of the spaces in between oppression and freedom, teaching women how to reject conformity, recognize systemic targeting, and reclaim their collective power.
