Hangdog #2
Hangdog is an independent Canadian publication that aims to share stories from climbers told in their own voices. They feature people who participate in the sport in all its facets, including both new and seasoned climbers. In a publication landscape where the barrier to entry is high, Hangdog aims to lower that barrier so budding writers and photographers have a platform to share their art.
Hangdog magazine was the recipient of a grant for Issue 2, keeping the production costs incredibly low! This means that once their base costs are covered, all proceeds from sales are split evenly amongst contributors. The purchase of the magazine directly funds young climbers and creators.
Inside Issue #2 you'll find several poems, three essays, and one main photo spread. Stories touch on injury recovery, identity, and that melancholy feeling after a big climbing trip. Excitedly features is an interview with one of Canada’s biggest climbing influencers, and a few comedic pieces as well.
