Lyle Magazine, Issue 01

Lyle is an independent quarterly print magazine that aims to celebrate the places, projects, and perspectives that make Vancouver Island and the Gulf Islands so special.

From intimate portraits of local icons and the gems that deserve to be on everyone’s radar, to explorations of identity and lore—Lyle makes the case that the region appeals to a lot more than the “newlywed or nearly dead”.

Their first issue is the 'Home' issue.

Mac DeMarco comes home, House of JIMBO opens its doors to us, Gwagwadaxla explores his relationship to qwɬáʔəl, Em Kovac cries 15 times before serving seven courses in her backyard, Ruby Smith Díaz and Genevieve Kang look for home within, and Chef Bana confirms what we suspected all along—that Ayo Eat’s home-style cooking could cure any ailment, though now it’s gone forever.

Vancouver Island, Canada; 76 pages; 215mm x 295mm; August 2026; first issue, wooo!
