    Neo Archive is a monthly poster series about sharing information and exploring how past archives connect to the present and future. Each edition is a limited newsprint poster, created to share information, inspiration, and fragments of research.

    Each month, a guest contributor (an artist, designer, writer, or cultural practitioner) is invited to create a poster printed on newsprint, using personal references, archives, or any source material that informs or contrasts with their creative practice. The project is not simply about producing an image. It is about sharing information, with the intention of exploring how archives from the past connect to our present and potentially to future archives. Each poster becomes a neo archive: a printed object where memory, transmission, and reinterpretation intersect.

    Laptop Background by Villeray Vision (Montréal–Paris)

    For this edition, Villeray Vision draws from personal tattoo archives, internet-sourced imagery, and architectural observations. Source materials include: an “X” ornament derived from the JSTOR logo, an illustrated element adapted from Fantasia (Walt Disney Productions), imagery from the artist’s own archive, initials adapted from funerary typography observed at Père Lachaise Cemetery, floral ornaments sourced from JSTOR, and folder imagery collected from Google Images. Using these materials, he assembles and recontextualizes visual elements drawn from tattoo archives, online sources, and observed architectural typography into a printed composition that functions as a contemporary neo-archive.
