Magazine B #97, Disney
Magazine B is an ad-less monthly publication that introduces one well-balanced brand per issue, unearthed from around the globe. B not only shares untold stories behind the brand, but also its sentiment and culture that any readers interested in brand marketing and management can leaf through with ease.
This issue features Disney: Disney was founded as a small animation studio by the Walt and Roy O. Disney brothers in 1923, based in Burbank, California. Many highly regard the brothers for having jumpstarted modern animation history—a feat that includes adding sound and color to animation for the first time and creating a system to break down the production process. Then in 1955, Disneyland, the world’s first theme park, opened in Anaheim, California. The park strengthened the brand’s intellectual property business and went on to maximize the value of the brand’s content, some of which was brought into the fold by strategic acquisitions of numerous media companies like Pixar Animation Studios, Marvel Entertainment, and 21st Century Fox, establishing the Walt Disney Company as an ‘Entertainment Empire.’ And with the launch of streaming platform Disney+ in 2019, the brand shows that it continues to invest in making new contact points with consumers and avenues for growth.
