Born in Brooklyn, New York, in 2001, Wax Poetics was created by a group of writers and record diggers to tell the stories behind beatdigging culture. To help contextualize what people were listening to, by looking back at where the music came from and the stories behind it. It quickly grew into one of the most iconic and influential music magazines in the world.

Wax Poetics returns with our Summer 2025 edition, packed full of the deepest music stories. Following the success of Louie Vega's Collection, we explore his legacy - from Latin, house, disco and dance music. In parallel, we revisit the raw impact and enduring influence of Mobb Deep, tracing their blueprint on East Coast hip-hop and beyond. This issue features two covers: Louie Vega on the front cover and Mobb Deep on the back.
